A lot of my reasoning is based off of projecting the outcome
of a situation. When I make decisions or
perform everyday activities, I try to make decision that will benefit me. For example when I go to work 4 times a week
and as much as I hate to do it, I know that if I become used to working a lot
when I am younger it will be easier for me when I am older to work even more
diligently than I do now. Another
example of my decision-making techniques is going to school right now. A lot of people at my work do not go to
school since they are able to make a comfortable living off the salary they
make. I have thought many times about
how much money I will be making if I work full time at a good paying job, but
the amount of money I want to make when I am older is no where near the amount
an average person can make without a college degree. I also know that in deux-time, I will find
the right job.
That’s very true, a lot of people don’t understand that many decisions that we make now, will eventually affect us in the future. The example you used about going to school now will help you work up to a successful future. Which is what I am striving for as well, working hard now and it will pay off in the future. It is smart for you to make decisions that will benefit you. There are many people who prefer to “live in the moment”, and worry about consequences later. Although that may be fun, but being careless would definitely catch up to you in the future.
ReplyDeleteI have the same type of mentality as you; even though I hate working I know that it will benefit me in the future. You use the example of work; I could use the example of school. Although I hate waking up for class every morning, I know it will benefit me in the future. A lot of people don’t understand that your actions you do now will affect you in the future. If you’re making bad habits now, you will be doing those same bad habits when you’re older. If you hate exercising now then you will probably hate it in the future. Always know that everything you do is beneficial in life, its either making you better or teaching you a lesson.
ReplyDeleteI have always had the urge to just drop out of school and start working full time knowing I can get about 80k, starting off at a job hook up through my father. I had to talk to many different older people to convince me that it was better for me to go and pursue my degree rather than working right off the bat. I am also very well suited deciding in situations where you have to think ahead and about the outcome of what can happen. What we do today is what may become a habit to what you will be doing in the far future, is that really how you want to end up?
ReplyDeleteSometimes I have also have the urge to drop out of school, just like TFM, but I know that by putting a career off at the moment will pay off in the long-run when I have a degree to my name. The temptation of just settling into a job is huge but I know I will be able to make a lot more money with a good education behind me. By basing reasoning off of what the future benefits will be a very admirable quality. There are a lot of people who do not plan for the future but they are just setting themselves back in the long run.
